Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Developer to join our engineering team at Standard Chartered Bank. You will work on high-scale, multi-market applications that serve millions of customers globally, contributing to our digital banking transformation and delivering secure, performant, and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Engineering

Design, develop, and maintain production-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot
Build robust full-stack applications with up-to-date web technologies
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following SOLID principles and team conventions
Participate in architecture discussions and propose technical improvements
Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers on API contracts and system integration

SDLC & DevOps

Follow and contribute to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment




Work with DevOps teams to ensure development processes align with DevOps principles
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
Monitor application performance and implement optimizations

Quality & Testing

Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
Ensure code quality through automated testing and quality gates
Participate in performance testing and optimization initiatives

Strategy

Develop and implement software development strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in software development practices.
Ensure the adoption of best practices and emerging technologies in the banking domain.

Business

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
