Teradata Query Performance DBA

Key Responsibilities

Monitor Teradata database performance, system health, and workload utilization.
Analyze and troubleshoot slow running, resource intensive, and failed queries.
Perform detailed SQL/query performance tuning using Teradata Explain plans and performance tools.
Analyze query execution plans and identify issues and collect, validate, and maintain optimizer statistics to improve query plans.
Recommend appropriate Primary Indexes, Secondary Indexes, Partitioned Primary Indexes (PPI), Join Indexes, and other physical design improvements.
Monitor and tune Teradata Workload Management (TASM) policies and workload classifications.
Investigate workload bottlenecks and recommend changes to workload priorities and resource allocations.
Work with application and development teams to optimize SQL and ETL workloads.
Review recent SQL/code changes for potential performance
