Job Description

As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will drive system architecture, technical meetings, and engineering excellence across Fluence’s product portfolio. You will lead the definition of complex multi-megawatt (multi-MW) system architectures, guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, and directly influence product roadmaps.

This role requires deep technical expertise, exceptional systems thinking,



and the ability to solve the energy storage industry's most challenging engineering problems while mentoring engineers and establishing world-class systems engineering best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the systems architecture lead for utility-scale energy storage products (BESS) and platform development.
Develop, maintain, and oversee product system architecture, integrating batteries, power conversion systems (PCS), transformers, communications, auxiliary power, mechanical, software, and controls.
Lead system-level requirements, functional decomposition, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical specifications using tools like JAMA Connect or MBSE tools
Drive technical trade-offs and resolve complex, cross-disciplinary challenges
Lead preparation for technical reviews and provide technical guidance for major Product Development initiatives
Partner with Product Management, engineering leadership, and business stakeholders to define long-term technology roadmaps.
