Position description: The role involves leading quality assurance initiatives within the Central QA department at Jindal Ferrous Limited, a key player in the Mining & Metals industry. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in the Blast Oxygen Furnace (BOF) operations. This position requires a seasoned engineering professional with a strong background in metallurgical processes, quality control systems, and regulatory adherence. The role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, implement robust quality management frameworks, and support operational excellence in a complex industrial workplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance protocols specific to BOF operations to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.




Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for quality deviations and process non-conformities in the production cycle.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and R&D; teams to optimize metallurgical processes and enhance product quality.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of BOF processes, equipment, and output to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality methodologies to increase operational efficiency.
Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations within the QA framework to maintain a safe working environment.
Train and mentor junior engineers and QA staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to establish quality benchmarks and ensure raw material compliance.
