You will own Avalara's India benefits portfolio — ensuring programs are compliant, competitive, and felt positively by the ~2,400 employees who rely on them. As a seasoned member of the Global Perks team, you'll navigate the complexity of India's evolving Labour Code landscape, drive the annual benefits renewal cycle, build smarter ways of working through AI and automation, and serve as a trusted partner to Payroll, Finance, and People teams. This is a high-ownership role for someone who combines regulatory depth with the initiative to improve how benefits are delivered, not just administered.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Key Responsibilities
Annual Renewals
Own the end-to-end India benefits renewal cycle — timelines, carrier negotiations, plan design reviews and Workday testing etc.
Evaluate plan performance using utilization data and prepare management summaries with clear recommendations.
Payroll Inputs & Vendor Management
Serve as the primary Benefits-to-Payroll interface, ensuring accurate and timely submission of all India benefits inputs
Reconcile deductions against vendor invoices, manage payroll cut-off calendars
Own the full vendor lifecycle for India benefits partners, onboarding, SLA monitoring, invoice processing, budget tracking, and renewals.
Lead RFP and evaluation processes; prepare commercial comparisons to support data-driven decisions.
Employee Engagement & wellbeing
Act as the first point of contact for India employee benefits and absence queries; resolve or route to the appropriate TPA, broker, or team.
