Description

Southeast Medical Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our agile laboratory team. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner, ensuring accurate specimen processing and adherence to all regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting diagnostic testing and patient care while maintaining a commitment to workplace safety and infection control. Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, following established protocols to ensure sample integrity and patient comfort.
Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and obtain informed consent prior to collections.
Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory for analysis, maintaining chain-of-custody documentation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area,



including proper disposal of biohazardous waste and sharps.
Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Enter patient data and test requests into electronic health record (EHR) systems with a high degree of accuracy.
Collaborate with healthcare team members, including nurses, physicians, and lab technicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
Participate in quality assurance activities, such as proficiency testing and equipment calibration.
Adhere to all Southeast Medical Group policies and procedures, including those related to patient privacy (HIPAA) and safety.
