The company owns and operates a distributed fleet of equipment rented to construction, industrial and infrastructure customers. Its earnings depend on acquiring the right assets, placing them with creditworthy customers, maintaining safe availability, controlling mobilisation and recovering equipment in acceptable condition. Revenue growth can conceal weak returns when utilisation is inflated by non-billable days, repairs are deferred, contract extensions are undocumented, customer deductions remain unresolved or residual values are optimistic.
The business is preparing its systems, governance and disclosures for a proposed listing. The Board seeks an Independent Director who can bring capital-allocation discipline to fleet expansion and establish reliable evidence for utilisation, asset condition, contract profitability, maintenance liabilities and disposal gains. The mandate also carries a clear safety dimension: commercial pressure must never place an unfit machine or unqualified operator at a customer site.

The Director will help convert an entrepreneurial asset-rental business into a controlled public-market institution. The role spans fleet strategy, asset-level accounting, credit, contract governance, site safety, maintenance assurance, telematics, procurement, related-party risk and IPO metrics. The Director should test whether the company earns an adequate return after idle time, mobilisation, damage, financing, maintenance and eventual disposal—not simply whether equipment is deployed.
Independent challenge will be especially significant when expansion is funded with debt or fresh equity. Fleet purchases should follow evidenced demand, service capacity and whole-life economics. The Board should avoid acquiring equipment to support an optimistic revenue forecast or to protect short-term market share at structurally weak rental yields.
