Company Description The Women Archive is an independent, youth-led magazine dedicated to creating space for women’s stories, ideas, and perspectives to be heard and remembered. The publication treats archiving as a living practice, built through contemporary essays, questions, art, conversations, and experiences that are not kept silent. Its content spans personal essays, poetry, interviews, cultural commentary, and visual work, bringing together diverse ways of seeing and telling.
Role Description
The Women Archive is looking for passionate writers and emerging editors who want to turn their love for storytelling into real editorial experience. As an Editor, you’ll work on essays, poetry, interviews, cultural commentary, and visual stories, collaborate with contributors, shape upcoming issues, and help bring diverse women’s voices to the forefront.
This is a remote, unpaid, portfolio-building chance designed for students and emerging editors who want hands-on publishing experience, creative collaboration, published work, and a chance to grow their editorial portfolio with an independent youth-led magazine.
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to contributors.
Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Journalism, Media Studies, Gender Studies, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Prior experience editing or writing for youth-led, independent, or feminist publications is an advantage.
