Role Description The Counsellor role at Sevalaya is a full time, on-site position based in Tiruvallur. The Counsellor will provide individual and group counseling support to beneficiaries, including children, youth, and families, addressing emotional, behavioral, educational, and social challenges.



Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing counseling plans, maintaining accurate case records, and documenting progress and outcomes. The role involves close coordination with teachers, healthcare workers, social workers, and other program staff to ensure holistic support for beneficiaries. The Counsellor will also facilitate workshops and awareness sessions, refer beneficiaries to specialized services when needed, and contribute to program improvement through regular feedback and reporting.
Qualifications
Formal education in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred).
Demonstrated counseling skills, including active listening, empathy, rapport-building, and case management in community or educational settings.
