Heights Libraries is seeking a skilled and dependable Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Buildings team. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position supports the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of library buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems across the library system.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with building maintenance and repair, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while responding to changing priorities. This position offers an opportunity to develop a broad range of facilities skills and provides a career ladder opportunity to Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

Building Maintenance & Repairs:

Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work throughout library facilities.
Assist with painting, furniture and equipment assembly and repair, plumbing repairs, and other general building maintenance.
Install light fixtures and replace bulbs as needed.
Replace washers, faucets, and seals; repair leaky faucets and clean interior and exterior drains.




Perform preventative maintenance on building hardware, electrical equipment, vehicles, and other assigned systems.
Use Building Operating System software to troubleshoot building systems and make adjustments as needed.
Assist with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of building maintenance, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and repair projects

Grounds & Facility Care

Perform grounds maintenance, including landscaping and seasonal maintenance.
Remove snow and apply salt to sidewalks, steps, and entranceways.
Help maintain clean, secure, and functional indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the library system.
Empty exterior trash and monitor bathrooms, grounds, and other areas for cleanliness.

Vendors & Administrative Support

Serve as a liaison with contractors and vendors as needed.
Order supplies and create purchase orders.
Travel between library branches to perform maintenance and repair dutie
