The Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking a Junior Web Developer to join our Product & Technology team. This is an opportunity to build practical experience across modern web development while contributing to digital products that support the Foundation’s global mission.

The role will work closely with our Lead Web Developer and wider ProductTech colleagues, initially focusing primarily on WordPress development for our public-facing websites and content platforms. Over time, there will also be opportunities to work with React/JavaScript applications and other technologies used across TRF’s digital portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development, maintenance and improvement of TRF’s WordPress websites, including custom Gutenberg themes, templates, blocks and content features.
- Work under the guidance of the Lead Web Developer to implement web features, resolve bugs,



test changes and contribute to regular releases.
- Write clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP, following agreed coding standards and security practices.
- Help translate design, product and stakeholder requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Support front-end development work using JavaScript and, where appropriate, modern frameworks such as React.
- Work with databases and structured content, including SQL-based systems used by WordPress and related platforms.
- Use version control tools such as Git to manage code changes, participate in code reviews and collaborate with other developers.
- Contribute to testing and quality assurance, including browser/device checks, accessibility considerations and regression testing before release.
