This is a remote, contract opportunity for a mid-to-senior Backend Developer focused on building reliable and scalable Python services.
You’ll design and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that support cloud-based applications and business-critical workloads.
The role has a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure, with opportunities to work across cloud infrastructure, containers, automation, and deployment.
You’ll contribute across the development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
Working within an Agile/Scrum environment, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to technical decisions and code reviews.

Accountabilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize backend services and applications using Python.
- Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservice architectures using frameworks such as FastAPI and/or Django.
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions primarily on Microsoft Azure, including services such as App Services, Functions, AKS, and Azure Storage.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing workflows, and reliable deployment processes.
- Develop and operate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Apply sound cloud architecture principles to improve application scalability, performance, availability, and reliability.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, querying, optimization, and integration with backend services.
