Azure and Windows Infrastructure Engineer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure & Windows (Wintel) Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our cloud and Windows infrastructure. This role will be responsible for managing Azure cloud resources and Windows server environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage, and Azure Active Directory

Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services

Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions connecting on-premises infrastructure with Azure services

Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Site Recovery

Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization

Implement security best practices and compliance requirements

Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and Azure ARM/Bicep templates





Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines

Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience with configuration management tools

Experience with hybrid cloud architectures

Knowledge of compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2, etc.)

Collaborate with application teams to deploy and support workloads in Azure

Maintain documentation for infrastructure components and operational procedures

Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022)

5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure and services

Solid knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows networking

Experience with Azure infrastructure services (Compute, Storage, Networking)

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
