Description
The Senior OT/IT Data Specialist will support the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the Smart Factory Data Backbone platform. This role bridges industrial automation, OT/IT networking, industrial data engineering, and contemporary software platforms. The successful candidate will support integration of shop-floor equipment and OT systems with edge, enterprise IT, and cloud services while ensuring industrial data is secure, reliable, well-governed, and fit for downstream applications.
This is a senior, hands-on technical role that combines architecture support, technical delivery, platform troubleshooting, vendor coordination, stakeholder collaboration, data governance, and operational support across manufacturing locations. The role will work closely with architects, engineers, lifecycle teams, system integrators, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable smart factory solutions and support future digital manufacturing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Participate in site-level architecture design activities across manufacturing locations and support implementation of the Smart Factory Data Backbone platform.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Data Backbone infrastructure, including Kubernetes/OpenShift-based edge deployments.
- Integrate industrial equipment, PLCs, and OT systems using industrial protocols such as Siemens S7, OPC UA, MQTT, and similar connectivity technologies.
- Troubleshoot OT/IT networking issues including TCP/IP, routing, NAT, firewalls, DNS, certificates, and edge-to-cloud connectivity.
- Build, support, and maintain industrial data pipelines, messaging solutions, and integration architectures using technologies such as Litmus, MQTT, and OPC UA.
- Develop and maintain industrial data models to contextualize machine, asset, and time-series data for downstream applications and analytics.
