Role Objective
The SAP S/4HANA ABAP Consultant will be responsible for the technical execution of S/4HANA projects. You will lead the custom code remediation process, develop high-performance objects using the HANA-native paradigm (CDS, AMDP), and ensure a seamless transition from legacy ECC systems to S/4HANA.
Key Responsibilities
1. S/4HANA Migration & Conversion
- Custom Code Remediation: Analyze and adapt existing ECC custom code for S/4HANA compatibility using SAP Readiness Check, ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), and SCMON.
- Simplification List Impact: Remediate code impacted by S/4HANA Simplification List (e.g., MATNR length extension, Business Partner conversion, data model changes like BSEG/ACDOCA).
- System Upgrade Support: Perform technical activities during conversion cycles, including SPDD/SPAU/SPAU_ENH adjustments.
2. Core Technical Development (RICEFW)
- HANA-Native Development: Design and develop Core Data Services (CDS) Views and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
- Modern Programming Models: Experience with ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) or BOPF.
- OData Services: Develop and extend OData services (SEGW) for Fiori integration.
- Traditional ABAP: Solid expertise in OOP ABAP, BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancements, and BAPIs.
3. Performance & Optimization
- Perform SQL performance tuning and optimize code for HANA using SQL Trace (ST05) and Runtime Analysis (SAT).
- Ensure adherence to Clean Core principles and SAP Best Practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in SAP ABAP with hands-on S/4HANA exposure.
- Experience in at least two end-to-end S/4HANA migration/conversion projects (Brownfield or Greenfield).
- Solid proficiency in Eclipse ADT, ATC, and SAP Migration Cockpit.
