Job Summary

SAN Engineering & Locomotive Company Limited is seeking an experienced Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for engineering components and materials required for manufacturing operations. The role involves vendor development, sourcing, procurement planning, supplier coordination, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Procure machining, fabrication, casting, forging, and bought-out items as per production requirements.
- Float enquiries, obtain quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Generate and monitor Purchase Orders.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, and Quality departments for procurement requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Develop and evaluate recent suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance with respect to quality, cost,



and delivery.
- Follow up with vendors for order execution and timely dispatch.
- Maintain procurement records and supplier documentation.
- Support cost reduction and vendor development initiatives.
- Resolve supplier-related issues and expedite critical requirements.

Educational Qualification:Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience
- 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in Purchase within a Manufacturing / Heavy Engineering Industry.

Mandatory Experience
- Procurement experience in machining, fabrication, and casting items is mandatory.
- Experience in sourcing engineering components and industrial materials.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience in vendor development and supplier management.
- Hands-on experience in ERP systems and procurement processes.
