To manage and control all site-level workforce operations including labour sourcing, contractor coordination, workforce discipline, and manpower planning to ensure smooth execution of projects without disruption.
Key Responsibilities
1. Labour Management at Site
- Act as the primary point of contact for all site labour issues
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity of workers
- Handle day-to-day labour concerns, disputes, and grievances
- Ensure smooth coordination between site supervisors and labour teams
2. Contractor & Labour Sourcing
- Identify and onboard reliable labour contractors
- Arrange skilled and unskilled workers as per project requirements
- Maintain a database of contractors and labour availability
- Ensure timely mobilization of manpower for current and ongoing sites
3. Workforce Planning & Reliever Management
- Plan manpower deployment across multiple sites
- Arrange relievers/substitutes for site supervisors and key workers
- Ensure no work disruption due to absenteeism or attrition
- Optimize labour allocation to control cost and improve efficiency
4. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and site regulations
- Maintain records:
- Attendance
- Wage registers
- Contractor agreements
- Coordinate for PF, ESIC (if applicable through contractors)
- Ensure safety norms are followed at site
5. Coordination with Management
- Provide daily/weekly updates on manpower status
- Highlight risks:
- Labour shortages
- Disputes
- Delays due to manpower issues
- Support project managers in manpower budgeting
Experience
- 5-10 years experience in:
- Factory HR / Labour Officer role
- Construction / infrastructure sites
- Manufacturing units with contract labour
- Experience handling blue-collar workforce at scale is essential
