Role Summary

The Line Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the stitching line, ensuring output meets quality standards aligned with the Pre-Production (PP) sample. The role demands hands-on leadership — identifying defects early, minimising alterations, and maintaining line efficiency across a ~40-machine unit producing premium baby and kids apparel under the Cocoon Care brand.

Key Responsibilities

1. Line Management & Output
- Manage daily production flow across all stitching lines to meet output targets
- Allocate operators to machines based on skill and style requirement
- Track hourly/daily production vs. target and take corrective action proactively
- Coordinate with cutting and finishing sections to ensure smooth material flow

2. Quality — PP Sample Adherence




- Study and interpret the PP (Pre-Production) sample thoroughly before line start
- Conduct line setting and first-piece approval before bulk production begins
- Ensure every operator understands the quality standard for their specific operation
- Catch and correct deviations from PP sample immediately — construction, seam, SPI, trims

3. Defect Reduction & Alteration Control
- Monitor inline defects at each operation and maintain DHU (Defects per Hundred Units) within targets
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring defects and implement corrective actions
- Reduce alteration pile-up by addressing problems at source rather than end-of-line
- Maintain a defect log and report alteration rate, rejection rate, and rework hours daily
- Coordinate with QC/Quality team on AQL norms and inspection protocols

4. Operator Supervision & Training
- Guide and train operators on correct stitching techniques for each style
- Identify skill gaps and coordin
