II. JOB PURPOSE

To deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction for the IB Diploma Programme, enabling students to develop linguistic proficiency, intercultural understanding, communication skills, and confidence in accordance with IB standards and philosophy.

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for IBDP Spanish (Ab Initio / Language B).
- Foster speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through interactive and inquiry-based learning.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and confidence.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.

B. Curriculum Planning
- Develop lesson plans, unit plans,



and assessments aligned with IB curriculum requirements.
- Ensure effective coverage of prescribed themes, concepts, and language skills.
- Integrate cultural awareness and global perspectives into teaching practices.

C. Assessment & Student Progress
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per IB guidelines.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students in oral assessments, projects, and IB examination preparation.
- Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports.

D. Student Support
- Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students.
- Support students requiring additional assistance or enrichment.
- Encourage independent learning and effective study habits.

E. Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with the Languages Department and IB coordinators for curriculum planning and school initiatives.
