Responsibilities of Import Accountants:
1. Import Related accounting JOB.
- Awareness of the Provisions of the Custom Act,1962.
- Book import purchases & expenses accurately in Tally software as per provisions of the CBIC.
- Maintain import costings in Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with the Customs Bill of Entry system and the ability to calculate customs duty in accordance with customs regulations.
- Proficiency in using ICEGATE to reconcile the Bill of Entry and ensure compliance with customs requirements.
- Competence in entering import-related data into Tally, including proper handling of IGST input from Customs and tallying it with data from the ICEGATE customs website.
- Verification & Auditing of invoices of the following Service Providers to ensure they are aligned with agreed terms & Conditions
- CHA: Verify if the charges comply with our contract.
- CFS: Ensure compliance with our contract.
- Shipping Line: Confirm adherence to our contract.
- Transporter: Verify compliance with the agreed terms and conditions.
- Import Logistics:



Filing E-Way Bills for Incoming Import containers as per need to various locations: Cold Storage, Shop, Factory, and Other Locations.
- Highly proficient with procedures for high seas sales and purchases requiring Proper Documentation
- Manage accounting for import licenses (such as MEIS, ROSCTL, RODTEP, etc.) acquired from exporters and used to offset customs duties payable.
- Implement forex hedging strategies and maintain accurate accounting records.
- PHYSICAL FILING OF IMPORT DOCUMENT As per CHECKLIST

2. TDS Compliances & Book Keeping
- Awareness of the Provisions of the TDS & TCS.
- TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) deductions & Compliances for Import related service providers such as Transporters, CHA’s, Freight Forwarders,
- Proper Deduction of TDS as per the Income Tax Rule for various service providers
- Cold Storages
- Chartered Accountants / Legal Advisors etc.
- Monthly payment of TDS/TCS.
- Quarterly TD/TCS Return prepar
