A Diamond Assorter is responsible for sorting, grading, and categorizing diamonds according to size, shape, color, clarity, and quality standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of diamond grading systems, and precision handling of valuable stones.

Key Responsibilities
- Examine rough and polished diamonds using magnification tools such as loupes and microscopes
- Sort diamonds based on the 4 Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat)
- Classify diamonds into appropriate categories for manufacturing, pricing, or sale
- Identify inclusions, blemishes, and defects in stones
- Match diamonds for jewelry sets (e.g., earrings, necklaces)
- Maintain accurate records of sorted diamonds
- Ensure proper handling and security of high-value stones
- Work closely with polishers, graders, and quality control teams

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of diamond grading standards (e.g., Gemological Institute of America guidelines)
- Strong visual acuity and attention to detail
- Ability to use gemological tools (loupe,



microscope, tweezers)
- Basic understanding of diamond manufacturing processes
- Valuable hand-eye coordination
- Integrity and trustworthiness (critical due to high-value materials)

Education & Experience
- Certification or training in gemology preferred
- Courses from institutes like Gemological Institute of India or similar are advantageous
- Prior experience in diamond sorting, grading, or jewelry manufacturing is a plus
