Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision testing
- Accurately diagnose refractive errors and prescribe corrective lenses
- Fit and prescribe contact lenses (soft, RGP preferred)
- Identify early signs of eye diseases and refer to ophthalmologists
- Handle patient queries and provide personalized eye care advice
- Maintain detailed patient records and follow-up cases
- Assist in frame/lens selection and drive optical sales (if retail setup)
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of diagnostic equipment
Qualifications
- B.Optom / M.Optom from a recognized institute
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Good clinical knowledge and practical exposure
Required Skills:
- Strong refraction skills and diagnostic accuracy
- Good communication and patient handling
- Sales orientation (important for optical store roles)
- Ability to work independently
Preferred Skills
- Experience in contact lens fitting
- Exposure to retail chains or busy clinics
- Basic computer knowledge for patient records
