An ICU Nurse is responsible for providing specialized, high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The role involves continuous monitoring, administering treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary medical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess critically ill patients’ conditions, including vital signs and neurological status
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps
- Respond promptly to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing
- Valid nursing license/registration
