The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for mobilising youth from underserved communities, building strong relationships with community members, and ensuring sustained youth participation in Lighthouse programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about grassroots engagement, youth development, and community mobilisation.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Mobilisation
- Mobilise youth from communities and build trust-based relationships with youth, parents, and community leaders
- Act as a role model and clearly communicate the program objectives and benefits to youth and their families
- Ensure maximum youth enrolment at the Centre in line with program eligibility criteria
Youth Engagement & Retention
- Build strong one-on-one connections with enrolled youth to ensure regular attendance and continued participation throughout the program and beyond
- Conduct home visits to students’ residences as required to support engagement and retention
Community Mapping & Coordination
- Map households and communities using GIS tools or Google Maps
- Coordinate with government officials and other stakeholders within the Lighthouse ecosystem to enable timely centre visits and activities
Centre & Team Support
- Uphold Lighthouse values and contribute to maintaining the Centre as a protected, inclusive, and youth-friendly space
- Support other team members as needed to ensure smooth program implementation
Preferred Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience
- Graduate in social work preferably.
- 2+years of experience in community mobilisation (experience in skilling or livelihood programs preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Computer proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of GIS mapping tools is an added advantage
- Deep empathy and a strong commitment to youth development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi:
