Role Objectives

The CAD QC is responsible for reviewing, validating, and auditing CAD designs for gold jewellery to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, cost efficiency, weight optimization and compliance with company design standards.

The role focuses on identifying design gaps, technical inconsistencies, stone-setting risks, casting challenges, and production feasibility issues before designs are released to manufacturing.

Role Responsibilities
- CAD Design Audit & Validation
- Review all CAD files before approval for production.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, prong thickness, wall thickness, and structural stability.
- Ensure proper gold weight estimation and optimization.
- Audit STL files for errors prior to 3D printing / casting.
- Validate stone seat accuracy and setting feasibility.
- Manufacturability & Production Alignment
- Identify casting risks such as:
- Air traps
- Shrinkage zones
- Weak joints
- Over-thin sections




- Ensure designs comply with:
- Casting standards
- Polishing feasibility
- Assembly practicality
- Recommend modifications to reduce rejection and rework rates.
- Cost & Weight Optimization
- Evaluate gold usage efficiency.
- Suggest structural redesign for weight reduction without compromising durability.
- Align designs with target costing and margin expectations.
- Highlight high-risk high-loss designs.
- Gap Identification & Design Improvement
- Identify recurring design errors and create corrective guidelines.
- Recommend design improvements for:
- Better strength
- Stone security
- Ease of finishing
- Reduced breakage during production
- Develop internal CAD audit checklist & SOP.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure designs meet hallmarking and karat standards.
- Maintain documentation of approved / rejected CAD files.
- Track and report rejection trends linked to design flaws.
- Support continuous improve
