Role description:
We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on AWS Solutions Architect who can support our internal Architecture and Engineering teams. We need someone who can document the as-is AWS landscape, and define a target-state platform design in collaboration with Security, Infosec, Cloud, Data and other key stakeholders. This includes extending our workload placement policies and architectural patterns for a poly-cloud Azure/AWS model, and providing knowledge transfer to internal teams to help mature capability in this area.

The key deliverables are as follows:
- Capture the As-Is of our AWS environments in artefacts to be re-used by the teams
- Work with the EA Strategy to define the To-Be AWS Platform (Including resilience etc)
- Look ahead at Technology patterns, and define them
- Work on a decision tree for workload placement across our Azure and AWS platforms, and then the decision tree based on workload placement (aligning to our strategy) will go through to the defined patterns we have created or will create




- Transfer knowledge to internal staff throughout the engagement

Must have:
- Demonstrable design experience with AWS in an enterprise environment
- Proven ability to design and understand secure-by-default platforms (IAM, networking, logging, guardrails)
- Solid documentation and knowledge-sharing habits

Should have:
- Exposure to regulated environments (financial services or similar)
- Comfortable working autonomously in an Agile / DevOps delivery models
- Experience architecting solutions which heavily interlace with SaaS products, at least one of the following:
- Salesforce
- Snowflake
- Mulesoft
