The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles to meet company and manufacturer standards. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality service work, accurate diagnostics, and exceptional customer satisfaction consistent with MG Motors’ after-sales service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Inspection & Diagnosis: Inspect vehicles (mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems) to diagnose issues accurately.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, brake checks, fluid top-ups) and carry out scheduled repairs following manufacturer procedures.
- Fault Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and implement the correct repairs.
- Technical Documentation: Complete work orders, log repairs and parts usage accurately, and maintain service records.
- Customer Communication:
Communicate vehicle issues, repair recommendations, and time/cost estimates with service advisors and customers as needed.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and comply with safety procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Educational Background: High school diploma ( ITI/Diploma in Automobile Technology or Mechanical Engineering) is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Robust understanding of automotive mechanical, electrical, and computer-based systems.
- Experience: Prior experience as a vehicle technician or similar automotive service role
- Communication: Effective communication and teamwork skills.
