Job Title: Safety Officer / HSE Officer

Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Reporting To: Project Manager / Site In-Charge / HSE Manager

Location: Project Site

Job Summary:
The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies at the project site. The role focuses on preventing accidents, ensuring statutory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Implementation & Monitoring
- Implement company HSE policies and procedures at site.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and site safety rounds.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all workers and visitors.
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure corrective actions.

2. Risk Assessment & Control
- Carry out HIRA, JSA, and risk assessments.
- Prepare and implement protected work methods.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as electrical works, work at height, lifting, and excavation.

3. Training & Awareness




- Conduct safety induction for new employees and visitors.
- Organize toolbox talks, safety meetings, and mock drills.
- Promote safety awareness among workforce and contractors.

4. Accident & Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents.
- Prepare incident investigation reports.
- Maintain accident and injury records.

5. Statutory & Client Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and auditors.
- Support safety audits and close observations.

6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain safety records, permits, and registers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Ensure safety signages and emergency plans are displayed.

Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Safety Engineering or Industrial Safety.
- ADIS / NEBOSH / IOSH certification preferred.

- 2-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer.
