Role Summary:
The Raw Material Handling Supervisor oversees the safe and effective receipt, unloading, grading, and staging of all input materials (alumina, pre-baked anodes, alloying elements, and scrap). You will manage a team of operators and heavy equipment to ensure a continuous, contamination-free flow of materials to the smelting or melting furnaces.

Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics & Unloading: Supervise the discharge of raw materials from trucks, railcars, or vessels. Oversee the operation of pneumatic conveyors, silos, and bulk handling equipment.
- Quality Inspection & Traceability: Conduct initial quality checks on incoming materials, ensuring they match Mill Test Reports (MTRs). In 2026, maintain rigorous documentation of material origin for carbon footprint and sustainability tracking.
- Inventory Staging: Manage bulk storage areas and silos, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO) and preventing moisture or cross-contamination of different alloys and scrap grades.
- Scrap Management: Oversee the segregation, cleaning, and preparation of aluminum scrap.



Maximize the use of secondary aluminum to support green manufacturing targets.
- Equipment Oversight: Monitor the health and maintenance of specialized material handling assets, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and automated conveyor systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict OSHA and industry-specific safety standards, particularly for handling fine powders (alumina) and heavy molten-load inputs.
- Digital Reporting: Use ERP/WMS systems to track real-time stock levels and report on material consumption and losses.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or Metallurgy.
- Experience: 3-5+ years in heavy industrial material handling, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP and automated warehouse systems.
- Certifications in heavy equipment operation are highly preferred.
