Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections during different stages of the wooden pallet manufacturing process.
- Inspect finished wooden pallets before dispatch.
- Check the dimensions, strength, structure, alignment, and overall quality of pallets.
- Ensure proper nailing, fastening, and assembly of wooden pallets.
- Identify defects such as damaged wood, cracks, splits, excessive moisture, improper dimensions, loose nails, and structural defects.
- Ensure that pallets are manufactured according to approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Monitor production quality and immediately report any deviations or defects to the Production Manager.
- Maintain records of inspections, defects, rejections, and corrective actions.
- Segregate rejected or defective materials and finished products.
- Coordinate with the Production and Warehouse teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Conduct random quality checks on finished goods before loading and dispatch.
- Ensure proper implementation of quality standards and SOPs on the shop floor.
- Assist in identifying the root cause of recurring quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain daily QC reports and submit them to the concerned reporting manager.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of quality inspection records.
Skills & Requirements
- Knowledge of wooden pallet manufacturing and quality inspection processes.
- Understanding of different types of wood and common wood defects.
- Good understanding of dimensions, measurements, and tolerances.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel for maintaining QC reports and records.
- Good observation and attention to detail.
