Job Purpose:
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on 3D modeling, surfacing, assembly, and drafting using CATIA V5.
- Design and develop automotive plastic components such as air vents, trims, dashboards, bumpers, glove boxes, and storage parts.
- Prepare 2D drawings with GD&T; and maintain engineering documentation.
- Perform tooling direction, draft analysis, and mounting feature creation.
- Support design reviews, feasibility checks, and benchmarking activities.
- Coordinate with tooling, quality, and production teams during development activities.
- Work on engineering changes and BOM documentation.
- Support prototype/mock-up preparation and validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with customer standards and automotive quality requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement and VA/VE activities.
- Maintain effective coordination with cross-functional teams.





Qualification & Skills:
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Polymer Engineering.

Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in automotive plastic product design and development.
- Experience in automotive interior and exterior plastic components preferred.

Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 (Part Modeling, Surfacing, Assembly & Drafting).
- Knowledge of automotive plastic product design guidelines.
- Experience in tooling direction, draft analysis, ribs, snaps, dog houses, and mounting features.
- Positive understanding of 2D drawing and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of plastic manufacturing and tooling processes.
- Understanding of BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Basic understanding of automotive development lifecycle and engineering changes.
- Familiarity with DVP, validation, and functional testing processes will be an added advantage.
