Performing Arts (Theater) Teacher - Primary & Middle School

This role is part of the English Language Department and focuses on developing students’ confidence, expression, communication skills, and appreciation for theater and literature through a structured, lesson-plan-based approach.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach Theater/Performing Arts across assigned grades, adapting to different skill levels.
- Introduce students to a range of theater forms and age-appropriate dramatic literature/musicals.
- Guide students in developing core theater skills, including expression, voice, movement, stage presence, and performance techniques.
- Use a structured, lesson-plan-based approach aligned with IPS academic standards.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to track student progress.
- Plan and support grade-level culminating events, performances, and drama-based activities across the academic year.
- Identify and mentor students with robust interest or talent in theater for performances and competitions.
- Maintain and manage drama room resources, costumes,



and stage materials to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in English, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Diploma or certification in Theater Arts desired, or relevant practical experience.
- Prior teaching experience (1+ years) in a CBSE/ICSE school (Primary/Middle grades) is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and a student-centered approach to teaching.
- Understanding of age-appropriate pedagogy and classroom management.
- Fresh English Language/Arts graduate with strong interest and willingness to learn theater techniques can be considered for entry-level roles.
