Key Responsibilities in Interior-Focused Architecture
- Spatial Planning: Creating detailed floor plans that optimize furniture layout, traffic flow, and "dead zones" within a building.
- Technical Interior Detailing: Drafting "Joinery Drawings"—specific designs for built-in wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry, and custom partitions.
- Material & Finish Specification: Curating "Mood Boards" and "Material Palettes" involving flooring (tiles/hardwood), wall finishes, and ceiling designs.
- Lighting & Electrical Layouts: Designing reflected ceiling plans (RCP) that indicate where recessed lights, chandeliers, and switches will be placed to enhance the ambiance.
- 3D Visualization: Using software like SketchUp, V-Ray, or Lumion to create realistic renders so clients can "walk through" the interior before construction begins.
- Vendor Management: Coordinating with specialized contractors like carpenters, false ceiling experts, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers to ensure the interior design doesn't clash with the building's pipes or wires.
