Backend Engineer – Core Java | AI-Assisted Engineering
Location: Bengaluru, Chennai or Ahmedabad
Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days/week
Experience: 2–6 years
Engagement: 3-Month Contract (Extendable)

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Core Java fundamentals to join a product engineering team working on business-critical backend services and customer-facing data integrations.
This is not a framework-heavy Java role. We’re looking for engineers who understand Core Java, backend architecture, microservices and scalable systems deeply and can independently take ownership of production features.
A key part of this role is also AI-assisted software development . You should already be using tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot or Cursor as part of your daily engineering workflow — not simply experimenting with them.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and develop moderately complex backend features with minimal supervision.
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and microservices.
- Own business-critical production components from development through deployment and maintenance.
- Contribute to system design and architecture discussions.
- Build and maintain customer-facing connectors handling large volumes of data and events.
- Troubleshoot production issues, bugs and customer escalations.
- Implement security fixes and improve reliability of existing services.
- Use AI coding assistants to scaffold features, write tests, debug issues, review code and accelerate development.
- Break down engineering problems into accurate tasks and prompts to get effective output from AI tools.
- Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance and engineering standards before it reaches production.
- Write clean, maintainable and production-ready code.
What We’re Looking For

- 2–6 years of hands-on backend software engineering experience.
