Network Administrator
GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI) is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator to join our IT team. This role is essential for installing, configuring, and supporting our LAN, WAN, and internet systems , ensuring robust network performance, availability, and security for our critical operations.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support LAN, WAN, and internet systems or a segment of a network system.
- Monitor network performance , availability, and security using network monitoring tools.
- Maintain and administer routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices.
- Implement and manage network security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform network troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
- Manage IP address allocation , DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations.
- Work with service providers for leased lines, MPLS, broadband, or fiber link issues.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams,



and procedures.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Plan and implement network upgrades and maintenance activities.
- Support disaster recovery planning and implementation related to networking.
- Respond to network-related alerts, incidents, and service requests.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi management and network access control systems.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios).
