About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with 2–4 years of qualified experience to help build and maintain the backend services that power our product. This is an individual contributor role for an engineer with solid backend fundamentals who can deliver well-defined features, work effectively with guidance from senior engineers, and gradually take on more responsibility.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs with guidance from senior engineers.
- Implement business logic based on product and technical requirements.
- Build and maintain REST or gRPC APIs.
- Work with PostgreSQL and other data stores used by the application.
- Write readable, maintainable, and tested code.
- Write unit tests and contribute to integration tests.
- Fix bugs and investigate application issues.




- Use logs and basic monitoring information to help troubleshoot problems.
- Work with Docker and existing deployment processes.
- Learn and follow established patterns for error handling, validation, retries, and timeouts.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Document relevant implementation details when needed.
- Collaborate with frontend, ML, infrastructure, and other engineering teams.
- Identify small improvements to existing code and services.

Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional software or backend engineering experience.
- Experience building backend applications or APIs.
- Good understanding of programming fundamentals and object-oriented or structured programming.
- Experience with Go or another backend programming language.
- Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of HTTP, APIs, request handling, and common backend patterns.
