Don Vanzara Showbiz LLP (DVS) is building a new content team for an upcoming infotainment venture and is looking for a hands-on Creative Director – Script & Editorial.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the creative quality of our scripts and work closely with writers from concept to production-ready episodes. This is not a review-only or supervisory role. We need someone who can sit with a script, identify what isn't working, restructure it, rewrite where necessary and push the writing team towards a consistently high storytelling standard.
The role involves:
• Leading the scripting and editorial process across series and formats
• Reviewing concepts, treatments, episode outlines and scripts
• Working directly with writers on story structure and scene construction
• Developing hooks, pacing, escalation and emotional graphs
• Strengthening characters, dialogue and narrative flow
• Identifying weak storytelling and driving rewrites
• Ensuring scripts are visually strong and production-ready
• Maintaining consistency of tone and storytelling across different series
• Working closely with research, content and production teams
• Giving final creative direction on scripts before production
We are looking for someone with:
• Strong experience in screenwriting, script editing, television, OTT, factual entertainment, documentary or narrative content
• Excellent understanding of story structure and emotional storytelling
• Strong editorial judgement
• Hands-on writing and rewriting ability
• Experience working with and leading writers
• The ability to distinguish between a script that is merely well-written and one that will actually work on screen
