The Math Coordinator oversees the planning, development, and implementation of mathematics curriculum and instruction. They support teachers, monitor student progress, and ensure alignment with educational standards to improve overall math achievement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Development & Implementation
- Design and update math curriculum aligned with national/state standards
- Ensure consistency in teaching methods and learning outcomes
2. Teacher Support & Training
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development for math teachers
- Conduct workshops, classroom observations, and feedback sessions
- Support teachers in lesson planning and assessment strategies
3. Student Performance Monitoring
- Analyze student assessment data to identify trends and gaps
- Develop intervention programs for struggling students
- Track progress and recommend improvements
4. Assessment & Evaluation
- Develop and standardize math assessments
- Ensure proper evaluation methods are followed
- Monitor effectiveness of instructional strategies
5. Leadership & Coordination
- Collaborate with school leadership and other departments
- Lead math-related meetings, initiatives, and events
- Coordinate competitions, clubs, or enrichment programs
6. Resource Management
- Select textbooks, digital tools, and teaching materials
- Ensure effective use of educational resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field
- Teaching certification (as required by region)
- 5+ years of experience teaching mathematics
- Experience in curriculum development or academic leadership preferred
