NURSING STAFF
- Handling and taking over of patient in each shift with special emphasis on responsible patients.
- Admission, discharge and transfer of patients and proper recording of the date & time of such events in their ward/ unit register.
- Assisting doctors in medical examination and treatment
- Identifying nursing needs of the patients and implements then accordingly
- Providing Bed-side care to patients as assigned to her by the nursing sister.
- Attends to the nutritional needs of the patients
- Maintaining personal hygiene and comfort of the patients
- Performing technical tasks.
- Administration of medication and oxygen etc.
- Recording vital signs, including but not limited to BP, Pulse, Temperature, CVP, Respiration, Oxygenation, Input
- Output charting as per the requirement of the case.
- Assisting in transfusion and maintenance of intake-out-put charts.
- Assisting the doctor in collection of samples in specific bottle duly signed by doctors e.g. for blood grouping and cross matching etc.
- Giving oral care, sponge bath, back care as and where required
- Preparation and administration of tube feeds
- Application of minor dressing
- Giving of the stomach wash.
- Planning of position of the patient to prevent bedsores
- Giving enema, bowel washes etc.
- Catheterization of patients
- Care of dying/dead
- Information to the doctor on duty urgently about any problem of the indoor ward patient
- Any of the terminally sick patient will not be left alone
- Handing over of the correct dead body along with the proper death form/summary etc. to the attendants of the deceased or the police in cense of Medico legal cases.
- It will be ensured by the staff nurse that no medico legal case dead body is handed over to the relations directly.
- Providing clean environment for the patients
- Maintenance of patients’ records.
- Assisting doctors and senior nursing officers in rounds
- Imparting health education to patients and the relatives
- Reporting of the defective eq
