Typical Work Activities and Professional Obligations
- Review and analyze new students’ records to understand abilities, learning styles, and individual needs
- Conduct academic, social, and behavioral assessments to identify students’ strengths and areas for support
- Develop, implement, and periodically review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with realistic and measurable goals
- Select and effectively use a variety of learning resources, instructional materials, and educational equipment
- Plan and deliver balanced instructional programs incorporating demonstration, discussion, investigation, and guided practice
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet diverse student needs, interests, and learning levels
- Teach students individually and in groups using diverse pedagogical approaches such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations, including administering and invigilating assessments




- Prepare and implement remedial and enrichment programs for students requiring additional academic support or academic extension
- Guide and counsel students with academic, behavioral, or adjustment concerns, as well as those with special academic interests
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date student records, assessment data, and documentation as required
- Prepare student progress reports and activity reports as required by school administration and regulatory bodies
- Integrate technology and digital tools into classroom instruction to enhance learning outcomes
- Supervise and support teaching assistants, trainee teachers, and newly qualified teachers
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher meetings, school reviews, and internal training programs
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals including learning mentors, counselors, psychologists, and education welfare officers
