Embedded Linux Engineer – Boot Time Optimization Location: Bangalore Experience: 5+ Years Education: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech Top Mandatory Skills Embedded Linux System Software Development Linux Boot Time Analysis & Optimization Yocto Project (BitBake, Recipes, Image Optimization) Xen Hypervisor (Dom0 Preferred) Linux Kernel Debugging & Performance Tuning Strong C Programming Key Technical Skills Linux Boot Flow (Bootloader, Kernel, Initramfs, Systemd) Boot Time Optimization in Virtualized Environments Xen Dom0 / Host OS Optimization Kernel Profiling & Debugging Power & Performance Optimization S0ix, Suspend-to-RAM (S2RAM) Embedded Linux BSP & Platform Bring-up Job Responsibilities Analyze and optimize Linux boot time for embedded and virtualized platforms. Improve Dom0/Host OS startup performance in Xen-based systems. Optimize Yocto images, recipes, services,
and systemd configurations. Debug kernel, driver, and boot-sequence bottlenecks. Investigate deferred probes, initcall ordering, and service startup dependencies. Tune power management and performance for cold boot, warm boot, and low-power states. Collaborate with platform, kernel, virtualization, and validation teams to achieve boot-time targets.
