Role Overview

Design First is looking for an experienced Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the company's fundraising, investment strategy, capital deployment, and portfolio management. The CIO will play a key role in building investor relationships, identifying investment opportunities, and driving long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead fundraising initiatives and build relationships with family offices, HNIs, institutional investors, PE/VC funds, and strategic investors.
- Develop and execute Design First's investment strategy and investment thesis.
- Identify, evaluate, structure, and execute attractive investment opportunities.
- Lead financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, negotiations, and investment approvals.
- Manage and monitor the investment portfolio, ensuring strong performance and risk management.
- Develop strategies for portfolio growth, value creation, follow-on investments, and exits.
- Manage investor relations, including reporting, presentations, and ongoing stakeholder communication.
- Work closely with the Founder, Investment Committee,



and senior leadership on capital allocation and strategic decisions.
- Build and lead a high-performing investment team and establish solid investment processes and governance.

Ideal Candidate

- 15+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, asset management, family office, or related investment roles.
- Proven track record in fundraising and investment management.
- Strong network among investors, family offices, HNIs, and institutional capital providers.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, valuation, deal structuring, and portfolio management.
- Excellent commercial judgment, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent qualification preferred.

Compensation: Competitive fixed compensation + performance-linked incentives / carry / ESOP, depending on experience and track record.
