Job Purpose

n

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Management professional to lead environmental compliance, water & wastewater treatment, waste management, monitoring, and sustainability initiatives at the plant.

n

The role will focus on regulatory compliance, operational excellence, resource efficiency, and continual improvement, while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the organization’s environmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities

n

n

Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Management

n

n
- Lead overall environmental compliance and ensure adherence to applicable statutory requirements of MOEF&CC;, CPCB, UKPCB, CGWA and other regulatory authorities.
n
- Ensure timely compliance and submissions related to NOC, CTO, EC and other statutory approvals.
n
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and ensure timely closure of observations, notices, and compliance requirements.
n
- Ensure implementation of all conditions stipulated by regulatory bodies.
n

Water & Wastewater Management

n

n
- Provide leadership for ETP/ZLD operations, process control, performance monitoring, and optimization.
n
- Monitor water consumption, wastewater generation, treatment efficiency, and chemical consumption.
n
- Drive initiatives for water conservation, recycling, reuse, and reduction in wastewater generation.
n
- Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for improving treatment performance and cost efficiency.
n

Environmental Monitoring

n

n
- Oversee Online Effluent/Emission Monitoring Systems, AAQMS, and other environmental monitoring systems.
n




- Ensure daily review and interpretation of monitoring data and timely corrective action for deviations or alerts.
n
- Ensure reliability, calibration, documentation, and compliance of monitoring equipment.
n

Waste Management & EPR Compliance

n

n
- Lead management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste including ETP/ZLD waste, used oil, fly ash, lime mud, plastic, e-waste, and battery waste.
n
- Ensure proper storage, documentation, disposal, and statutory compliance.
n
- Drive compliance related to Plastic EPR, E-Waste and Battery Waste Management.

NABL & ISO Management Systems

n

n
- Lead NABL laboratory accreditation activities including internal audits, MRM, Z-score, training, quality control, and documentation.
n
- Ensure effective implementation and continual improvement of applicable ISO management systems.
n
- Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure timely closure of non-conformities and observations.
n

n

n

Data Analytics & Process Improvement

n

n
- Analyze environmental and operational data to identify trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
n
- Drive Kaizen, 5S, process optimization, chemical consumption reduction, and resource efficiency initiatives.
n
- Develop and maintain appropriate MIS and management reports for environmental performance.
n

Team & Manpower Management

n

n
- Lead, develop, and motivate the Environment team to achieve operational and compliance objectives.
n
- Ensure optimum manpower utilization and improve productivity through effective manpower planning.
n
- Identify training needs and develop multiskilling and competency enhancement programs.
n

n

Documentation & Management Reporting

n

n
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of environmental records, statutory documents, monitoring data, and compliance reports.
n
- Provide regular environmental performance updates and actionable insights to senior management.
n
- Ensure effective use of SAP/MIS for relevant operational and documentation activities.
n

n

Educational Qualification

n

n
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
n
- Additional certifications or professional qualifications in Environmental Management, EHS, NABL, or ISO systems will be an added advantage.
n

Experience

n

n
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in Environmental Management, preferably in a manufacturing/process industry.
n
- Relevant experience in environmental management, ETP/ZLD operations, statutory compliance, and environmental monitoring, preferably in a manufacturing/process industry.
n
- Robust knowledge of CPCB/State PCB compliance, waste management, NABL, ISO, EPR, and environmental monitoring systems.
n
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
