We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis Chef to join our agile culinary team. As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with our experienced chefs to assist in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations. Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and cooking ingredients and dishes according to recipes and standards set by senior chefs.
Support the preparation of stocks, sauces, dressings, and other essential elements for menu items.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the cleaning of kitchen equipment, tools, and workstations.
Ensure food is cooked and presented to the highest quality standards.
Assist with inventory management, ensuring ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are monitored.
Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team, providing support across various sections of the kitchen.
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff or apprentices when required.
Help minimize food wastage and optimize ingredient use.
Be adaptable in supporting other kitchen sections during busy periods or as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
Culinary school diploma or equivalent training is a plus.
Basic understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from senior chefs.
Strong passion for food and eagerness to learn new culinary techniques.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
