Software Tester responsible for ensuring quality and reliability of software applications through systematic testing. Involves manual testing, bug identification, validation, and coordination with development teams to deliver error-free applications.
Key Responsibilities
Understand project requirements, specifications, and user stories
Prepare test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
Perform manual testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications
Identify, report, and track bugs using defect management tools
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing
Work closely with developers and product teams to resolve issues
Validate fixes and perform retesting
Perform API testing and basic database validation
Ensure software meets quality standards and client requirements
Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and agile testing processes
Document test results and maintain testing reports
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with clients
Ensure application usability and performance
Maintain test data and testing environments
Required Skills
Solid understanding of STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
Experience in manual testing and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
Basic knowledge of SQL and API testing
Understanding of web technologies and databases
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and documentation skills
Educational Qualification
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Experience
14 years of experience in software testing (Freshers with robust basics can apply)
Other Requirements
Only candidates from Western Line (Mumbai suburban railway) preferred
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to work in agile setting
