Job Description
Turing is hiring Scientific Coding Experts – Chemistry for the SciCode project, an AI training and evaluation initiative focused on creating high-quality scientific coding datasets for frontier AI models.
The role involves creating, implementing, testing, and reviewing complex Chemistry-focused scientific coding problems using Python and scientific computing tools.
Key Responsibilities
Create scientific coding problems consisting of one main problem and at least 3 connected sub-problems.
Develop verified golden solutions in Python with complete unit test coverage.
Design discriminative test cases to distinguish correct and incorrect AI-generated solutions.
Perform quality-control checks and improve tasks based on evaluation feedback.
Ensure scientific correctness, determinism, well-posedness, and adherence to strict quality standards.
Complete a maximum of 1 task within 6 hours.
Work 8 hours per day.
Maintain 4 hours of working-time overlap with PST.
Participate in project reviews, feedback sessions, and standups during overlap hours.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Master’s or PhD in Chemistry.
Robust Python programming skills.
Experience in scientific computing.
Knowledge of NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, or relevant scientific/chemistry tools.
Ability to write rigorous, well-defined scientific problems.
Solid analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
Experience in scientific research, academic projects, scientific writing, or AI data annotation.
Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks or coding benchmarks is preferred.
Published research or STEM academic project experience is an advantage.
