We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to own the accounting function of a high-growth US company, working remotely from India.
This is the senior accounting seat in the business, and it remains substantively hands-on. You will be accountable for the accuracy of the financial statements, the discipline of the close, the strength of the control setting,
and the readiness of the company for its audit. Where the company has outgrown the processes that carried it this far — a close held together by one person's memory, a control environment that exists in principle rather than in practice, a reconciliation that has not been cleared in three quarters — you will be the person who rebuilds them.
You will work directly with the CEO, the US finance leadership, and the department heads whose decisions depend on your numbers. A significant part of the role is translating accounting information into something people outside finance can act on, and doing so before they ask for it.
