Role Description The Assistant Professor – Pharmacognosy will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in pharmacognosy and related pharmaceutical sciences, including preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, conducting laboratory sessions, and assessing student performance. The role involves developing and updating course curricula to align with skills-based education goals and industry expectations, as well as supervising student projects, internships, and research activities in areas related to natural products and medicinal plants.



The faculty member will contribute to academic administration by participating in departmental meetings, committees, and university initiatives, and will engage in research, publications, and collaborations that enhance the university's academic profile. Ongoing student mentorship, academic advising, and support for career development are integral to this role. This is a full-time, on-site position based at Medhavi Skills University in Sikkim, India.
Qualifications

- Advanced academic training in Pharmacognosy or Pharmaceutical Sciences (Master's degree required; PhD or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacognosy, natural products, phytochemistry, and related laboratory techniques, including handling and analysis of plant-based medicinal substances.
- Demonstrated ability in classroom teaching, curriculum development, and assessment methods aligned with outcome-based and skills-focused education.
- Experience or interest in applied research, publications, and collaboration with industry or healthcare organizations in the domain of pharmacognosy and drug development.
- Effective communication skills, including transparent academic writing and student-centered teaching, with proficiency in English; additional regional language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to use digital tools and learning management systems for course delivery, evaluation, and student engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to mentorship, and capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary academic and industry teams.
