Role & responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity.
- Perform objective and subjective refraction and prescribe spectacles or contact lenses where appropriate.
- Evaluate near and distance vision, binocular vision, accommodation, and ocular motility.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, keratometry, pachymetry, visual field testing, and other tests as required.
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative vision assessments as directed.
- Identify signs of ocular abnormalities and refer patients to the ophthalmologist for further evaluation.
- Assist in screening and monitoring patients with conditions such as glaucoma, cataract, diabetic eye disease, and other ocular disorders.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Optometry (B.Optom / equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Experience in a multispecialty eye hospital or ophthalmology clinic.
