We are an established textile screen-printing factory engaged in printing scarves, fabrics and other textile products. We are looking for a mature, responsible and experienced person to join us as General Manager / Factory Head and take complete responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the factory.
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing the factory and ensuring that production, quality, manpower and delivery schedules are maintained to the required standards.
1. Overall Factory Management
- Take complete responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of the factory.
- Ensure smooth coordination between printing, colour preparation, washing/finishing, drying, packing and dispatch.
- Establish proper systems and discipline so that the factory operates efficiently even when the owner is not present.
- Monitor factory performance and report regularly to the owner.
2. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare daily and weekly production plans according to orders and delivery schedules.
- Monitor production against planned targets.
- Ensure timely completion of orders without compromising quality.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective action immediately.
- Improve productivity and reduce unnecessary downtime.
3. Quality Control
- Take full responsibility for maintaining required printing and finishing quality.
- Ensure correct colour matching, print registration, repeat, placement, coverage and overall appearance.
- Check first-piece/sample production before bulk production.
- Establish proper quality checks at different stages of production.
- Minimize rejection, rework, shade variation, printing defects and customer complaints.
- Ensure final goods are inspected before dispatch.
4. Manpower Management
- Manage printing supervisors, colourmen, screen printers, helpers and other factory staff.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Maintain discipline, attendance and productivity.
- Identify inefficient manpower and take appropriate corrective action.
- Train and motivate staff to improve productivity and quality.
- Ensure that workers follow proper production procedures.
5. Raw Material & Production Control
- Monitor availability and proper use of colours, chemicals, screens, fabric and other production materials.
- Control unnecessary wastage of fabric, colours and chemicals.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of production materials.
- Coordinate with purchase/store personnel for timely availability of materials.
6. Machinery & Maintenance
- Ensure printing tables, machines, dryers, washing/finishing equipment and other machinery are properly maintained.
- Establish preventive maintenance schedules.
- Minimize machine breakdowns and production stoppages.
- Coordinate with technicians/service providers whenever required.
7. Cost & Wastage Control
- Monitor production costs and wastage.
- Reduce unnecessary consumption of colours, chemicals, water, electricity and manpower.
- Track rejection and rework and identify the reasons behind them.
- Continuously look for ways to improve factory efficiency and profitability.
8. Order Execution & Delivery
- Ensure every order is produced according to approved samples/specifications.
- Closely monitor critical orders and delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate with the office/merchandising team regarding production status.
- Immediately inform the owner about any serious production, quality or delivery issue.
9. Factory Discipline & Systems
- Introduce proper systems for daily production reporting.
- Maintain production records, quality reports, wastage records and manpower records.
- Conduct regular meetings with supervisors and production staff.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety and proper working practices throughout the factory.
REPORTING
The General Manager / Factory Head will report directly to the Owner/Proprietor and will be expected to provide:
- Daily production report
- Daily quality/rejection report
- Manpower/attendance status
- Order-wise production status
- Material/wastage information
- Machine breakdown/maintenance report
- Immediate reporting of any major problem affecting production, quality or delivery
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Age: 40 - 55 years preferred
- Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in similler kind of post
- Must have experience handling workers, supervisors and factory operations.
- Must be mature, disciplined, responsible and result-oriented.
- Should have robust leadership and problem-solving ability.
- Should be capable of taking independent decisions within company guidelines.
- Must be comfortable working in a hands-on factory environment.
- Experience in screen printing of scarves/fabrics will be strongly preferred.
IMPORTANT
This is a senior management position, not merely a supervisory job.
We are looking for a person who can take ownership of the complete factory operation, maintain discipline, improve production and quality, reduce wastage and ensure timely delivery without requiring the owner to be present every day.
